Yikes! I'd love to have that Pantera, but unfortunately the site wants to be a pain and make me pay to respond to that advert.

Is that the guy that's selling them on preloved? He didn't have the Pantera up, but I'd message him if that was the guy.

I sent a message asking him about them. Figured it won't hurt.

The CB x390 has the tip of the headstock broken off and no switch tip.
Doesn't say much about the condition on the add. neither.
It's a bit pricey mind.

That x390 has just been sold on ebay. Belonged to a member on here. midhilis

The same fella, irishkaraoke, is selling the Thunder IA, Pantera x390 and a Thunder III on Preloved.
Also on ebay he's selling the same Thunder IA as on Preloved.

This guy buys quite a few 'tones off ebay and sells them on at a mark up. In this case a 'king big one.
Too much in my opinion, it's not worth a grand in that condition.

That is free enterprise for you and in my view it is far more acceptable than the dependency/entitlement culture that has grown in UK over the last few years.

If someone is stupid enough to pay him what he is asking then good luck to him.

I have noticed his adverts on Ebay over the last few months. If I was ever interested in anything he was selling, I would only offer him about 50/60% of his asking price.

I am not going to slag the guy off but, I personally find his adverts generally inaccurate. If the ill informed and naive are daft enough to bite then they should have invested a bit more time on research before opening their wallets.

Many of the trade sellers make a profit on postage. If you don't like then either don't buy or get in touch and tell them you ain't going to cover their postage charges.

If you do buy, then leave low score feedback for postage costs.

I will state the obvious as often as you demonstrate moral indignation at the antics of a seller who is doing little different to anyone else who trades i.e. attempting to make a profit (including you and I ).

I have recently found that Asda, Powergen, Sky, BT, Shell etc, etc etc etc also make a profit. I am personally going to boycott them all now.

I will only buy from loss making enterprises and I call upon you all to join me. If our combined purchasing clout then makes these businesses profitable, we will then simply move on until there are no loss making businesses left. On that day we will all starve and freeze to death. We will be dead but we will be morally pure.

Put that in your pipe you big bully!!

I suppose, to be fair to the seller, any one of us could have bid on this originally and this issue would probably not have arisen, just hope whoever gets it this time gets a good deal, I would imagine that the asking price must be negotiable. I guess that we just want to see it in the hands of someone who values it for what it is.

Not to belabour a possibly sore point (my apologies up front), but not exactly true John.

Fotunes have now changed for the better and we all have an opportunity to prevent this from occurring again. Midhilis has taken the time and effort to find a shipping firm he is comfortable with and now is offering international transit.

Encouraging news that deserves to be reinforced with a proper response on the part of those of us who are in the market, the least of whom would certainly be me.

This is really something! We've got quite the episode going down! I'm planning on asking about the x390. I can't afford anything that expensive, but maybe I can work something out. Advice, as always, is greatly appreciated.

Also, good point Iceman. I'm happy he's willing to do overseas shipping, but I still remember the anguish of reading that he made that decision after he sold the 390 that I tried to get from him.

Well, I contacted the man behind this and it was quite interesting. A lot of tossing around how I don't know what I'm talking about. He tried hard to come across as a Westone "authority". Needless to say, I didn't strike a deal. haha

Also, he mentioned several times that British pounds were "real money." I thought that was a little odd and stupid, if I may say so here.
