Hadn't seen one of these for sale until this one.
Pantera X250
I like it a lot. So simple. I'll bid on it I think.

I've got a thing for one pup geetars and this looks "verrrrrry intelesting". And $60 shipping to Canada isn't too bad..hmmm...

Uh oh, may have some competition Chad. I've always loved the simplicity of the 1 pickup axe too, this one looks super cool. I'll stay out of ya'lls way even though she is quite puuuuurdy.

Would be nice if it had the rounded edges on the headstock like to 300 and 390.

Re: Pantera X250?
I know right, it's great around here! I am bidding, yes.
The behind the nut locks were removed and covered however, that stinks.
Oh well, this will still be a good guitar for rock/metal which is what I'll use her for!

That's REALLY cool! It's like an X-275 neck and body with the DBK paint and a single slanted humbucker. VERY '80s!!!

Re: Pantera X250?
I know, I'm really digging this thing. It'll be my first Pantera!
Wierd, but it's the first time I've been a little giddy about a guitar in a while.
If I don't win it I may cry.
Just kidding.
Only thing I wish it had is the contoured beveled edge headstock, like a lot of other Pantera's have. This headstock is flat/sharp edged.
This will be a gigging guitar. How fun.

Fingers crossed for ya even though I'd love to have it (even with its pointy little head).
But no can do, so as John would say, "Go hard Chad!"

Re: Pantera X250?
I think you will love the body shape - In my opinion, its the best strat based body design of all the copies companies have made ( only made better on the 390 & 350) - but then once you get the first pantera and realize that, you get that itch to get the 390 and 350 - so good luck
P.S. corsair was happy in getting his 300 and did not get the itch to move up. So it is possible to avoid the itch, but it is rare indeed.
P.S.S. corsair should get the itch - he doesn't know what he is missing - the 390 and 350 are sooooo different than the 300 IMO, and while pricey...they are worth it

Damn things are growing on me...
The only thing saving me from total bankruptcy is that most have pointy heads. Not a fan of those at all. (Gotta find some excuse and that's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

I'm not a pointy fan either - but I am a Rabin fan, so the 300 i got was just because I wanted a 390 like he had and I couldnt fint one. Once I had the 390 I learned about the 350 and had to get that. I turned the 300 into a 12 string cause the 300 was really just an average guitar. I Imagine the 250 and 275 are no better than the 300 just different configs.
But I am with you - i got no interest in any pointy unless it is a 390 or a Rabin Sig. No offense to the corsairs, challengers, etc westones that have the pointy.

Correction:
I do think the 250 is cool cause ya never see them - if it only had the 300 neck (black and contoured)

Thanks guys! I'm excited over this Dull Black single pup single knob geetar. And yes sir John, I'll strip, document, and thoroughly describe it for posterity's sake.
My first Pantera. Since I couldn't afford a 390 or 350, I thought I'd go in the complete opposite direction.

with a name like Pantera, automobile metaphors obviously come to mind.....
so, i look at my 300CR and i see Race Car
and i look at that 250 with it's smooth elegant lines, sleek black finish with bright chrome, minimal appointments (only on the outside of course) and i see Limousine.
there is much elegance and beauty in the simplicity
anything but "Dull"!

Re: Pantera X250?
You're right, it does look a little elegant. Like a hot rod Lincoln or something with that chrome Bendmaster on black. I'll be interested to feel the neck on this thing, although it doesn't have that cool contoured head. And I wonder what the humbuggy is? Looks to be original, I don't know. The poles are screwed way low on the high strings if you look at the pics, weird. Oh well, if something's wrong, I can replace the pup. Maybe even make it active, yeah, I'll through an EMG in there!
Just kidding, wanted to get yer dander up!
One thing I hope... that I DON'T get the itch for a 390 or 350 too badly!

Should be interesting to see where this leads.
If that 250 was on this side I would have bid on it also, nice guitar. The pup looks like a MMK45
itch

Re: Pantera X250?
I'm scared I'll really like it. And a guitar's neck is what really sells me. So if this 250's neck is really feely good, I'm in trouble deep as far as the itch is concerned. Although I remember someone saying the necks are a little different from the low end to the high end?
This'll be my 10th or 11th guitar I think, it's getting bad enough already.

Re: Pantera X250?
I never played a 250 or 275, so I'm not sure how they compare to the others. The 300 & 390 have a similar feel to each other, maybe a bit thinner on my 390, and my 350's are a bit thinker than the 390.

I'm keen to update the pix on the website. Dunno if that one has the original pup or not (covered)? But the description cites a Magnaflux. And this model's referred to as the Special. The Chad wrote:...And yes sir John, I'll strip, document, and thoroughly describe it for posterity's sake...

If you've played a 300 you have basically played a 275 then. The x350 / x390 similarities extend in the same manner to the bolt on models.
Fuji to Braeburn to Pink Lady to HoneyCrisp if you follow me...
Congratulations Chad! I'm glad I made a point of forgetting about that one.

The 300 does have the extra layer of paint on the neck though - and we know they put a lotta paint on Westones. That being said, I have no interset in a 275, but the 250 in it's very basic setup seems cool. I was not in on the bids, nor will I be on any until after Oct (getting locked in..I mean married). But if I see one after oct, I will be in on the bids.
Can't wait to see the pics and hear the review eh

Yep... me too! I have the 300, and that'll do me, even thought the 350 and 390 are apparently quite different beasts. Besides, I buy 'em to play em and I've got far too bloody many already; some that are even in a different country!
However, if a white Rainbow turns up, or a white APII PE, I may have to rethink the issue...

People sarcastically ask the same thing to my lovely Wife, "how were you lucky enough to win him"? As if she got the short end of the stick, because she did! It's good to marry up.
