differences in switchmaster knobs?

I've got white dot marker and red dot marker.

difference in years? or difference in guitar color?

I don't really know, but I'd be inclined to think keyed to body colour?? Mine all have white dots, though - eveN the red SpectrUm SX so just ignore me...

Probably a paint pen. Use them to restore old marks ect. plus the dots on Switchmaster knobs(white)
Or a tiny drop on a toothpick.

not even sure I could class this as technical, but here goes...

I have the switchmaster knobs on myThunder Jet with white dots and no grub screws, but I have one that does not fit snugly and keeps sliding off when coil tapping.

Whats the best way to fix it, I notice there is a split pin thingy below it...should I just widen this out a little?...

You can.
But it can be fraught with tears, especially if you're a dumb ass...broken shaft

Usually it works, but if you want to be safer, fill the gap with something like a sliver of plastic from a guitar pick or summit.

thanks Barry..  , and seeing as I'm a bit of a dumb ass I'm going with the plastic option - just in case  

Been there, done that, that aluminium aint as flexible as I thought it would be.

i felt a tad foolish asking the question....but glad i did now.

i don't mind learning from my mistakes - but i'd sooner learn from someone else's. 

Didn't check but the Quantum Bass comes to mind.
