I in fact do have one, Sarc. They are a well rounded instrument and the actives in them are not just for cachet. They do add quite alot of variety to the tone without being overly "quirky" for the lack of a better term. Very substantial weight-wise as well.
I should be getting mine back together again the the next 10 days or so. It has been a project I have procrastinated about for too long.
Mine did not come with the second nut so I will be having one made so I can try the alternate 5th position sometime in the future.
As nice as it is I would be shocked to find it is worth the $1000+ that the one currently on ebay is being asked for.

That one sold for a lot less than 1000 - not sure what they normally go for.
