I think that all Westones should be covered to a degree. It's all common interest.
Secound thoughts I seriously think that this forum has helped in a major way to hike up prices.
Anyway I,m off to S. Africa to find some more. See you in a few months.
Have a good Christmas all, Cheers.

All Westone's should be mentioned, this is as a means to separate the "real" Westone's from the others. Maybe a brief section mentioning them, nothing fancy.
I've been saying this for a while now, that we've been hiking up our own prices. In more ways than one. May be an interesting study for and Economics course or something though, eh?

Im with that. Having a site that covers it all doesnt detract from the good stuff as long as theres clear delineation.

Re: Not seen this one before....
Back on the topic of this guitar my nephew was having a blast on it today, he normally plays jazz and a lot of finger picking bluesy stuff, he just went ooh I can do Jeff Beck and he did. Made it sing, made me wish I could play like him, his verdict was its a very good guitar. So although this forum is primarily Mats a good guitar is a good guitar wherever its made.
PS took me a whole afternoon to get it setup right before he turned up.

These play and sound excellent. Ask anyone that owns one.
Don't knock it 'till you've tried it.
Absolutely Damian I'll drink to that, anyway, this forum is dedicated to Sid along with Status-Graphite, it says so at the top of the page
I haven't taken many pics of my Cutlass, though Damian has plenty, the duo above look good here's mine in its case & scans of the catalogue below, looks like more work for Barry mind, what a valuable archive, thank you Barry

And I did!
Number 26 arrived home this evening! Not a Mats but a nice player nonetheless. I'll start a new thread with pix if there's any interest, otherwise thought there might a few wondering how it turned out.

Baz Im interested, how does it compare to standard teles with the trademark metal around the bridge and its pup?

Re: Not seen this one before....
Well, that's the thing you see, it doesn't really sound like a classic Tele at all, at least to my ears. It has echoes of the Tele but it lacks that "chime" that you'd expect. By contrast, my Vintage brand Tele clone (Wilkinson) does have that sound...pretty much bang on too:grogg wrote:Baz Im interested, how does it compare to standard teles with the trademark metal around the bridge and its pup?
The Squire's P90-2's do deliver a decent range of tones though, and they can fair roar when pushed. If you can fault them at all I guess they could be cleaner/brighter a lower levels. The only major complaints I have are the cheap machine heads, the plastic nut, and the sharp fret ends. Bloody thing keeps going out of tune, so I'm replacing the tuners with a set of GFS mini-Gotoh's, and a low friction polycarbonate nut. Already took a file to the frets so that's taken care of.
Overall this is decent little axe for very little money, as long as you're willing to fiddle a little it to make it all that it can be. And I do love the look of it!

My understanding of the phrase is found here in the first definition...
http://m.urbandictionary.com/#define?term=red%20headed%20stepchild
I meant to infer an idea of total disregard in attitude when you work out that new guit of yours grogg.
Is there a different meaning that it holds for you? If I have offended you or anyone else with the use of it I then would like to apologize.
To my sensibilities all put downs are cheap... I see no value or point in putting lipstick on a pig, if you take my meaning there.

No offence Ice, just dislike the phrase, ginger bashing seems to be the new...

Re: Not seen this one before....
Bought it new 4 years ago. Never gigged. It's actually the guitar that started the last upsurge of GAS which resulted in my going on an Holy Quest for Mats and other "interesting" guitars. When I started in 2007, I had 5 guitars...the above mentioned Squier makes 26!grogg wrote:The Wilkinson tele looks brand new?
The GAS continues. (urp! 'Scusie)
And Ice? That's the way you do barrel saddles!
