Rainbow I ...with a trem??
Just spotted this one on eBay...
eBay link
has anyone seen one like this before? It certainly looks like it has a trem bridge. Any chance this was a factory option?
Cheers

Re: Rainbow I ...with a trem??
Hi David,
Good to see you again mate!
I don't know if that might have been modified, I certainly haven't seen one like it before. The damage on the headstock looks pretty nasty... I wonder what happened to it? He says there has been a repair to the neck also - Ouch!

Re: Rainbow I ...with a trem??
Hi Pauline,
I've not been far away, I like to check in regularly to see whats going on. Always keeping an eye out for irresistable bargains although I'm trying to concentrate on playing my guitars rather than increasing the collection. Still got my spectrum bass in bits but will hopefully posting some pics of that work in progress soon.
My feeling is that Rainbow has had some major work. I think a bigsby type trem would have looked more in character if it has indeed had a retro fit bridge. Mind you, it could be a prototype for the Yamaha Wes Borland signature model! Yamaha link ...which I must admit, I think looks kind of cool!

Re: Rainbow I ...with a trem??
It looks like the Kahler model that mounts on the stop tail studs on a TOM/STP set-up. I believe that this requires little or no modifications and the tremolo costs $369US now.
My Rainbow II has a Bigsby and locking Sperzels both installed by a previous owner.
