Pickup specs for session II humbucker Empty Pickup specs for session II humbucker

Post by Session II Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:34 am

I have a Westone Session II arch top and am trying to find out the specs for the humbuckers that are currently in. I don't want to start taking it to pieces as a use far too regularly to risk breakage or it not be the same. I am thinking of upgrading the current pickups but all the measurements across the instrument seem unique to the model and not fit to any other factory standard sizes. Any spec info especially with size woud be much appreciated.

Aye, I'm worried about the difference of the size of pickup itself and the outer casing that its housed in. The guitar is sounding really, really well, but, the quest for the perfect tone is a pain in the ear. Its got me in two minds, possible a rewind or if it may be time to get some more power. It may just be that the grass is greener syndrome may be biting!

I have no idea if they will fit or not, but for some reason the Duncan Seth Lover pickup seems like a match to me. But it probably isn't hotter than the stock pups - so if you're looking for hotter, this may not be the ticket.

MMK 75 are a real nice p/up.
I've a Session II and I wouldn't change them for love nor money.
Wax potting them doesn't go amiss though.

Thanks for the info. You've confirmed what I kind of thought. I won't be taking any form of tool to the guitar. Potential disaster avoided. Thanks again.

Westbone, you say yours are equiped with mmk-75?
The Prestige series did.
Did you check?
I think mmk-61 fits the bill for a Session ll.
Not bad either.

This would be the practice of dipping your pickups into a pot of liquid wax in order to drive out any air that resides therein and creates microphonic squealing. There are plenty of tutorials on it web-wide and I suspect most of us have had a crack at it at some stage, but it is certainly not for the faint of heart...
