Concorde neck pickup recessed below pick guard??

Just got an 83 Concorde I today. Everything checks out fine except....

The neck pickup is adjusted so low that it at most sits flush to the pick guard. This really seems odd and what I would normally do to adjust it (the setting screws) feels as if there is too much play involved. Any experienced voices care to chime in? Appreciate it.

Sounds like the adjusting screws been turned out completely.
Scratchplate off jobbie, got to replace the selector switch anyway.

That's a nice birbseye grain on the back of the neck and tons of sweat and crap on the fingerboard.
Nice short scale on those.

It looks to me like the adjustment screws may have simply jammed themselves on the springs. Most likely the springs are completely flattened and hung up on the threads.

Will proceed as directed. The larger stains in the fretboard are actually areas where the finish seems to have worn away. After I get the pickup squared away I will be looking for help there as well most likely. Lovely warm tone and very smooth action even as it is setup now. Hope to have some after pics someday.
