Brand New Westone Owner (Maybe)!
I just purchase this lefty guitar for $30. It had some other bogus neck on it. After some time searching, I found this forum and was able to figure out that the tremolo is a Bendmaster FT. 5 of the fine tuners are bent, the 6th has its head is broken off. So what chance do I have I finding six straight ones? The trem looks very interesting so I hope I can get it working.
Any chance of finding a neck for that matter?
Also, can someone tell me what the model is based on the body shape? Maybe its not a Westone but some other Mat guitar? I think the body may be plywood but not 100% certain.
I was thinking of refinishing it since I already have a red guitar - any opinions? Also, what about the pots and pickups. No pics pf the p/u's but they need some serious clean-up if they're even worth keeping. The humbucker is 2-wire so not tap-able. What do you guys think?

Bridge looks to be a Bendmaster FT; the bottom pics are a bit blurry!! Could be a Spectrum 1A...

... but it's not a Matt, I don't think. Getting the OEM bits for it could be an exercise in frustration, really, so making it your own by re-finishing and new hardware could be the order of the day.
The fine tuners are a standard thread - 4mm? - and once again, trying for OEM parts will just be a PITA; before I had caps made for one of my guitars which was missing its fine tuners, I just used Allen head machine bolts; worked fine!!

Re: Brand New Westone Owner (Maybe)!
The allen head bolts are a great idea- thanks!
I think I'm going to cleanup the pups and see how they sound before investing in new ones.
A new neck from GFS may be in order.
I'm also going to try the Liberator volume pot from Seymour Duncan along with a new tone pot.
The body/finish only has one major ding - I might just sand it down a bit and call it relic'ed (ha, ha)!

I remember the pups in my Westone, not anything to have a party about.
t'was really the only thing that I needed to change, but then again, it was a long time ago and I had no opinion worth listening to back then.

Hey that's amusing because I just acquired a pretty similar body the other day and got it today by mail!
Have fun rebuilding it!

Thanks for the ebay heads-up! It's a little more than I wanted to spend but still seems reasonably priced at the moment. There's 7 bids on it so fess-up, who's bidding against me?!?! May the best (er, richest?) man win. 2 days left so we'll see where it ends up.
