H-S-H pups, Push Pull Knobs, different tone option controls
For Westies with the H-S-H pups, three push-pull knobs, and 3 way toggle (like the Spectrum, Dimension IV, Dynasty), am I right in explaining it this way?:
Three way toggle: Selects either humbucker or both
1st Knob - Volume, Coil tap for both humbuckers
2nd Knob - Selects or deselects the Single pup, tone control for Single pup
3rd Knob - Tone control for both Humbucker pups, phase reversal
I think that this is correct from playing around and from what I'd read. If I'm wrong, please let me know. Is this same control for all the Westie guitars that have the H-S-H pups, 3 way toggle and 3 push pull knobs? Someone who knows more than I do, please chime in!

Thanks Barry, looks like I was right for once. Finally some hard proof for my Wife!
Since mine is an '84, do you think it has the same Magnaflux II's that the '85 does? I didn't take them out to read the bottom, but I think that other '84 Dynasty's had the MK45's (humbuckers, anyway). Are the MK45's the same as the Magnaflux II's, just named differently?

Actually I don't quite get it - is the center pickup ever on only itself? Or is it turned on in combination of where the 3-way humbucker switch is?

The middle pick up is only in combination with the others, if I remember correctly. I'll check it out tonight when I go home.

Aha! Ok it all makes sense now. Mine seems to be wired exactly like that. That's a great article.
When looking at this other diagram, it gives me the idea to move the output of the 3-position switch to the unused side of the "turn on middle pickup" switch. Mine is not like this, but it shows an extra wire in place that would make it easy. See how the output of the selector switch is always connected to the rest of the chain, but via the wire from the middle position selector?

I'd like to try JUST the middle pup and see if it's "better" than the neck in SC mode. I usually will tweak the tone stack on a guitar until it's juuuust right. One of my favorite neck pups is the SC on my trusty Spectrum SX. This is the first neck humbucker westone I've ever had. Who knows what will be "best" but I'm dying to try it.
Heck I haven't had 10 minutes to play the dang guitar since I got it and here I am typing on a computer instead of playing it!! I got a Dimension IV locally last week!!
