Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Hello you guys. I just recently joined this forum, but before that I'd been looking at it for some time. I own a Westone Genesis I. I traded my iPod for it back in 2006 I believe. (Good deal in my opinion.) The only problem with it is I've never had a tremolo arm and I recently bought a Floyd Rose tremolo to put on it, without realizing how much work it'd take to put it on. I hadn't realized it required so much cutting, I thought it would rest on the body of the guitar like the Bendmaster Deluxe, boy was I wrong. So now I'll probably put the Floyd back up on ebay, and find the pieces I need for the Bendmaster Deluxe. I need the tremolo arm and the washers and all that go on the nut.
Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
OK, Chris - nice to "meet" you and welcome here!! The problems you've got are common ones for the Bendmaster-equipped guitars but these days they aren't insurmountable!!
There is a Spares section here, but he's closed at the minute so keep an eye out for him opening up again later on as he has all of the bits you need.
A bar is available from Stewmac here which will do the job but the stringlocks are an orphan; if you're handy with your hands then you can make 'em, or you could buy a beat up guitar on the bay for the parts. Bear in mind that if you make your own lockwashers that underneath the strings on the locking base, there are a set of 1mm shims which brings the strings up to the level of the top of the base. If you tighten up the lockwashers without the shims, you'll guillotine the strings!! Oh, and you can't overtighten the bolts, or you'll strip the thread in the crap-metal base, and as it is, the E/A stringlock bolt only grips on about 2 threads; some of us put in a slightly longer bolt!!
Scared yet?! That's all you get for free, man - let's see what you got!!

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
They don't sell the arm with the bushing on the bottom? All I have to work with is a hole...
Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Found what I needed on eBay. Best of all, didn't pay anything for it. Free shipping, and I checked out with eBay bucks.

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Ok. I'm back. With an even weirder question. I've got the tremolo arm, now what I need is the piece that sits in the hole on the bridge that the whammy bar screws in to. Help?
Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Hmmm... you need one of these, yes??
The short, rather flippant, answer is "Keep an eye on eBay!" because that's where you'll find one; I know of no other source for this collar. It's a 2 part thing with one half being above the bridge plate and the other half below it, so perhaps a troll around Stewmac and Allparts - and any other online guitar part warehouses as you can find is in order! I would suggest, too, that your first form of attack should be to your local music shops to have a look through their spares boxes.....
Anyone out there got any suggestions??

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
This is what I found: Tremolo Arm Collar. I'm not quite sure if this is the right size or what. I searched for a good while to come across this. Ideas?
Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
I'm unsure of the relative sizes of the holes, but I really do suggest taking a wander to your local music shop, eh - I'm reasonably sure that FR stuff doesn't fit the Bendmaster.
The photos I posted are of a Bendmaster Deluxe Trem arm collar.

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Yeah, I figured that same thing... none of the pieces from my Floyd Rose will fit the bendmaster. I'll poke around the local shops and see what I can find, I'll be going back to Charleston today and I'll be able to put up the pics of the Genesis. Where is the "kosher" place to post pictures?
Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Yep... Members Westones will do nicely!! Not too many Genesis in here, either; mine, Steve777 and I think one more so be good to see another!
What I do is uplosd pictures to Photobucket - or similar hosting service - and then c+p the .img link you're then given into posts here....

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
That paticular one won't fit the Bendmaster trem, you'll have to change the collar.
Try these.
http://www.floydrose.com/pdf/FloydRose_PartsCatalog.pdf
2,4,6, will go straight in. 1,3,5, will suit the trem arm you posted, which are damn cheap!

A 6mm import( strat style) trem bar will fit the Bendmaster FT bridge (Dynasty) without the collar
Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Strangely enough, I already have a nigh on identical one on my Genesis 2. I cant see the problem

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
Must have changed the collar at some point. They do go straight on, 9mm hole in base plate of the Bendmaster deluxe.

If they don't tighten up fully on the base plate, grind a bit off the gold part bottom then fit the collar and allen screw.
Alternatively, fit the 'old type' floyd rose trem arm bush almost identical to the Bendmaster and you won't have to change your wah wah bar, wah.

I'm suprised these get lost or worn out as the whole section is threaded, the slit on the bottom part acts as a 'nylok' type nut and is impossible to turn itself off as it goes on quite far. You need spanners to remove these. Or a madman at the wah wah bar manages to wear it out.

trem bridge style
If you look at my Avatar , you can see the bridge type i have? Do you take this bridge apart to assemble it. I don't know if you do for this bridge.. by the way , what is the name of this style bridge....Its not a Floyd!
Like you said, it must be some kind of Fender copy....

Re: Westone Genesis Bendmaster Deluxe Tremolo Arm
A 6mm import strat type arm will work perfectly without the collar.
If you look into your 'hole' you'll notice it has 2 threads, one in the bridge plate, one further down in the trem block. Just screw your 6mm import arm into the block. Voila !
