Spectrums with maple fingerboards?
Are there any Westone Spectrums with maple fingerboards? Particularly glossy ones. If so, how would they compare with similar Ibanez Blazers?

Re: Spectrums with maple fingerboards?
I don't remember seeing a Spectrum with a maple fingerboard. Concords did have a maple neck + 'board but when the Spectrum was introduced I think they all came with a rosewood 'board?
And I've just spent all evening masking up a Concord I maple 'board so that I could polish the frets with wire wool to get rid of 30 years of grot. Good news (despite the frets being black, they were so cruddy) is minimal wear. Neck polished, no lem-oil on the sealed finish and new strings on (EB slinky 9s; stuff 11s, Corsair can have 'em!). Need to adjust the bridge saddles and job done.
An ebay find, am I!

The Spectrum MX and SX with colormatched fretboards have a maple fretboard. Additionally, the early Electra Phoenixes (the Electra version of the Spectrum) had maple boards.

The red and blue ones do, but not the black ones, they have a black stained rosewood fingerboard.

I suppose I should have added that as a footnote, Thorn, it just didn't really occur to me since the dyed (and usually faded) rosewood doesn't match the black body in the same way that the red and blue do.

I recently had an early 80's Blazer, LIGHTweight Japanese ash body. It had a hard life, needed new frets but underneath the scratches a great playing and sounding vintage Strat. Solid brass tremolo unit and pot knobs.
