Need to Measure Your Fretboard Radius--for Cheap?
I posted this reference in the Mats forum and I thought the members here might appreciate it too:

I was wanting to determine the radius on one of my guitars recently, but I don't have any gauges. I know I could do the old pins in a stick trick to describe a series of arcs, but couldn't be bothered. And it sounded like work!
So I was looking about for alternatives--cheap alternatives.
I found this handy template which you might find useful. You can make up a couple of your own gauges which contain 8 different radii. Much easier to store for future use:

hey Barry have you checked the Radius on your Westones? I would love to what they are...I've played bass for 20 years but have only just started learning about fretboard radius....I do know my spectrum series II bass is a very flat 14" radius but don't have a clue about my Thunder or my Spectrum guitars.... the spectrum guitar board is very rounded so it must be a 7.25 or 9.5 it feels very nice.... I'm not too keen on flat fret boards at all

No, that's one thing that I haven't got around to doing yet, on any of the herd! But I think you may be right guessing 9.5"...that's kinda Strat'ish territory. Jesper might know since he's always re-fretting something, or someone???

Nope.Sorry.
Never done a thunder or spectrum.
7.25 tho i doubt. That´s pretty rare for the japs.
9.5/10/12 are the most common.
