Pantera identification
http://cgi.ebay.nl/1980s-WESTONE-PANTERA-X275-GUITAR-MIJ-MATSUMOKU-Sweet_W0QQitemZ260614878557QQcmdZViewItemQQssPageNameZRSS:B:SILF:NL:103
I just picked up this Pantera from Ebay last week:
The title of the add says X275 but I am pretty sure it is a X300. Can anyone confirm?
I've heard of a Pantera X300 & Pantera Pro X300. What is the difference?
Also if anyone is looking to get rid of a 390 I am looking

Re: Pantera identification
I believe you're right, since the only known version of the X275 did not have a tone knob. And an X300 is a Pantera Pro. Pro means X300, basically. Having both is redundant.

Re: Pantera identification
Warrn is correct. That is an X300. The X275 was the Pantera standard, X300 Pantera Pro, X390 Pantera Deluxe. Nice grab, the X300 is a great player for hard rock and metal.
cool
Cool thanks for looking. I figured it was a 300 as it had the tone knob. I also don't think I have seen a 275 with a black neck and black tuners.
Now maybe I can find or fabricate a truss rod cover that says X300.

Re: Pantera identification
Search the forum. I believe someone had a thunder truss rod cover fabricated not that long ago. That would be a great starting point for you and I'm sure they could provide you with a few pointers.
Re: Pantera identification
It's no biggie to get one fabricated from some kind of perspex/plastic/synthetic; all you need are the measurements of the actual TRC - and the height and spacing of the writing thereon - and the typeface used.... I'm sure someone in her will oblige will a photo or two and measurements...
Some of the plastic pieces I've had made are indistinguishable from OEM bits; I wonder if the backplates are made from the same sort of plastic as the TRC, in which case you can take the backplate down to your friendly plastics manufacturer - with your measurements and pix - and get him to make you one.
