the bridge-pickup and the knobs are not original...

$500 is high. He does have the original bridge pickup and the covers and will throw them in. I made him a fair offer but I think he believes it is worth more so I don't hold out hope for this one. Seems like a nice enough guy to deal with. I'll let you all know. Anyone else near Rochester like me????

hehe, if it was in europe i wouldn't hesitate to buy that one...but as westones in the usa always are cheaper, 500 is perhaps a little bit high...

You could always sell the extra pickup to make back some of the cost.

I certainly would have tried to buy it if I had seen this on time. You can't get the set-up as good on these with the Bendmaster as you can with the Kahler, but still fabulous guitars - awesome neck profile and great sustain.

We got this one a couple days ago.

It needs a new fret job. Someone had filed the frets just on the high e and b strings from the second fret to the eleventh. I'm going to take it to a local luthier to see if it can be dressed to make it work, or if it needs new frets. (which is what I think it needs)

Neither tone knob worked, and the single coil and phase reverse pull knobs didn't either. I replaced the Seymour Duncan TB5 Trembucker pickup, with the original that he supplied and corrected the wiring issues. The 3way switch had been replaced also. It came with the original whammy bar. I replaced the strat knobs with the black ones from my Spectrum Sx.

I was very disapointed when I saw the frets in that condition, I have never seen ones hacked up like that before. It was clear that someone with no knowledge of fret dressing did the job. The frets are replaceable, and other that, this guitar looks and feels great. I have never replaced frets, so will take it to someone skilled to perform this task. I'm going to post a picture of a line diagram for the wiring of the X390 in the Technical section, that I drew up earlier last year. It was helpful in sorting this guitar's wiring out.

seems that we have the same problem with the frets...could you please tell me if refretting worked without any complication?

I'll keep you in mind if parting with them, I would guess shipping from the states to Germany would be expensive.

Here's a few pictures of the new one. I thought outside would be good, but there is so much glare, you can't really see the deep Blue color.
