Not exactly "rare" as the seller says but definitely difficult to find.

This Thunder is in very nice condition with a few minor exceptions:

• missing? or broken mini toggle switch (easily replaced)
• missing original brass knobs
• original tuners replaced with Grovers for some reason -they are fine but the buttons look out of place methinks (cosmetics)

Otherwise she's good to go.
Being an '82 it has string thru bridge and not that awful surface mount barrel saddle version.

The asking price however is another thing:
a little steep at CAD$500 considering the above, but comes with OHSC, assume that means "branded"?

A lot of money for a guitar arguably worse than an all original version.

Did the ferrule bar thingy on the back replace the individual ferrules sometime in 1983?

I wouldn't say it's "worse" just not completely original. The changes are only cosmetic. Assuming that the pups and circuit wiring have not been molested it's still going to be a Thunder.

Still not worth the asking price though.

My 1983 Thunder I-A has the "ferrule bar thingy" Razz
So I guess that may have been the change over year.

It's b-a-a-ck!

Seller obviously had no luck the first time around in January, but has not learned anything from the experience, virtually no changes from the original ad. Thunder I-A --1982 (CAN) Icon_rolleyes

Same price.
Same comments apply. Thunder I-A --1982 (CAN) Tapeshut
