Thanks Corsair Wink . I was already quietly watching that one in "My eBay" and trying to decide just how far over £1 I'd actually go on it Laughing !

Seriously though, I really want a black one and I know (from expensive previous experience) what happens when I decide to buy according to price and not according to what's in my heart Crying or Very sad . Still, I'll keep thinking it over.

Cheers for the heads up, all the same Very Happy .

Aged Gregory.

I check eBay nearly every day, especially as I'm selling a couple of (non-Westone Wink ) basses there at the moment.

I saw the black GT and had a good look at the photos. To be honest, that one's a fair way below the baseline that I draw for condition on basses allowed into my collection Neutral . I know that makes me look quite "snobby", but well ... I am a snob Razz !!!

Thanks for the tip though!

Say, is that blue Spectrum GT guitar (link...) the one that you referred to earlier in this thread? Now that's more like the kind of condition that I'd be looking for Wink .

Gregory,

Just a thought, but if you got it for a reasonable enough price, would it not be worthwhile restoring it?

To be honest Pauline, I don't have the facilities or the patience for that kind of messy work, where I'm living at the moment Neutral . The difference in £'s between a pristine, original one and a knackered old plank is relatively small, in terms of what I'd usually pay for a bass guitar. So, I'd rather just find the right one and spend the necessary cash.

Again, this sort of "devil-may-care" attitude will rub a few people up the wrong way, but I know from bitter experience that (IME) a restored instrument just isn't as much fun (for me) to own, or as good from a resale p.o.v., as a good original and I'd simply prefer to spend the extra cash and just get the right one when it comes along.

Thanks for your suggestion though Smile .

I dunno Gregg, I think I'd love to have a purpleburst Thunder III. And I know it wasn't offered as a standard finish. When refinishing a guitar, you've got to go crazy! And seeing as Westones aren't really that expensive, a pro refinish might actually add value to it.

Just think about it... purpleburst.

Hey, where did his guitar land after he threw it off at the end?

I've watched that clip 3 times and I can't figure it out scratch .

The stumpy one truly is a musical genius though, no doubt about that!

Well, it sold for only £67, in the end (although not to me, I should add Wink ).

I'd be very happy if I could find a black one in that kind of condition for the same price Very Happy .

Must keep an eye on eBay pirat .

Thanks for the info boutjp97 Cool , but this one's a DX (single pickup) and I'm really after a GT or (better still, an LX).

Suspect Also, this one's got an EMG Jazz Bass pickup in place of the original humbucker (wtf silent ?) and looks like it's been to hell and back!

OK for $100, I guess, but really not the sort of condition that I'm looking for, either No .

Guess I'll just have to be more patient Wink .
