Pretty much as the title says - I got a Westone Genesis guitar and it seems in great shape, except for the fact that it's missing that top metal "super nut"/ string guide part that sits right above the nut - Is there a replacement that will suffice? Couldn't find one on ebay...

Thanks.

Hi and welcome.
What you're referring to is not a string tree but the string lock assembly.

Unfortunately these were a proprietary item with Westone, no longer made, and are as rare as rocking horse poo! You might eventually find a spare part on eBay but it's a long shot.

From your description I'm not sure what part you are missing, pics would be helpful. New members are prohibited from posting hyperlinks for 7 days so that would have to wait.

If you are missing the locking plates many members have made their own from such things as metal strapping (the original were made of zinc). Any thing else however, and you're out of luck.

However, there is a Kahler unit which appears to be an adequate replacement for Pantera, and the Genesis model shares the same neck. Perhaps this is the best solution.

You can find information here, look at post #11 in particular: LINK

Yes! You are correct! -It is certainly the string lock assembly -The metal component above the nut that the strings pass through. I'll try and post a pic

Yep… that stringlock base is as rare as chickens’ lips, and what’s more, is pretty bloody ordinary, even in good nick because it’s made of pot metal and when the steel bolts are even slightly over-tightened, the threads get stripped, which leads to all kinds of heartbreak!
Then, of course, you need the locking plates which lock the strings down in pairs and also, you need shims that go underneath the strings…
Good luck finding an OEM unit in good order, or even in rag order!; the Kahler unit Barry has alluded to may well be your best bet.
Bear in mind that the vibrato will work just fine without the stringlock if you’re not shredding and sawing away on the bar; down bends seem to work just fine; it’s the wild up bends that cause problems.
