Serial number
Hi. I'm new to Westone guitars but I found and absolutely good looking ES 335 copy, Wilkinson mikes and so on. But I can't find out where it's made or even if it's genuine Westone, the number starts HY090....... Help please

Re: Serial number
Hello Yka59 and welcome.
It's difficult to answer your question without seeing some pictures.
However, new members must wait 7 days before posting hyperlinks so that's not an option right now.
Westone did make a line of ES335 style guitars called Rainbow, but based on the serial number fragment you quoted, it does not indicate a Japanese made Westone. Have a look at our website for more information and see if yours looks like these:
https://westoneguitars.net/guitars/rainbow/
Wilkinson pickups and hardware are good quality but if they are on a genuine Westone they would be replacements for the originals.
I suspect that what you have is not a Westone, or at least not one of the models from the period of manufacture that we cover here.
Post some pictures when you are able to and perhaps we'll be able to give you better information.

Re: Serial number
Hi Yka59
The first Matsumoku Westones (in the unknown Westones section) were build in 1980 and the serial numbers have 6 digits, all numbers, no letters, starting with 0.
All other Matsumoku Westones have 7 digits serials, all numbers, no letters.
Yours is probabely not a Matsumoku Westone but Chinese. If so it may be a good guitar (it may as well be not so good so try it before you buy it) but it has little to no collectors value.
