Thunder 1 bass pictured on site with cartoon on it

Hello everyone …. The thunder 1 bass in the introductory section on here … does anyone know where it’s from . I may have some information on it . Many thanks David

maybe you could describe where you found that pic of a thunder 1 bass with a cartoon on it.
where is this "introductory section" you are referring to.
i also could not find any pic like you mentioned.

Hi all .. the bass in question is the first bass pictured the thunder 1 on the home page list of seven types of westone basses .. the cartoon I speak of is just below the strings .. on the body towards the bottom just below and forward of the neck pickup . It’s partially rubbed off but it was a goofy face with Aki 84 written under it .. it was a cartoon I used to put on everything I owned as a kid . 
The bass itself was my first bass , my mum got it for me fro. The gray tan catalogue in 1984 .. it was my pride and joy as was stolen from a flat I shared in nor th London in the mid nineties while I was on tour with the buddy Holly musical .. ironically playing the part of J b the bass playing cricket .. if anyone has any information on the bass id greatly appreciate it .. it has so much sentimental value … I can’t believe I’ve even seen a picture of it again … one of my friends said they saw it in a pawn shop in either Crouch End or the Angel a few years later .. but when I busted them they had no record of one .. can anyone help ? Hello again David, and thanks for the clarification and back story.
Sorry to hear that you were the victim of a theft.

That picture was one of the original "archive" images that I inherited when I rebuilt the website about 10 years ago. I do not know its origin and there is no credit for the picture either. The website has since been taken over by another webmaster who's made many changes, but the images have remained.

Since it isn't a high resolution image, I always assumed that it was a scuff mark of some kind (battle scar) that the owner didn't bother to repair. It certainly does not present itself as a "cartoon", hence the confusion at this end with your request.

The individual who started the original website before me is a member here and if he's still active and sees this post perhaps he might have something to add which may help you.

Otherwise, I'm afraid its a dead end. Very frustrating for you I'm sure.

Thanks for reply Barry .. ah what a shame , I hadn’t laid eyes on the bass for 30 years nearly then there it was !!

Hopefully the originator of the site is still active and will contact .
