It's wild, I'm 44, most of my rock  heroes are in their 50's or 60's.  There's not a whole lot of hope coming up, though there are rock acts that will at least last through my lifetime.

That sounded depressing!

What's also depressing is that rock n roll will likely fade into a generational "era" niche much like the Big Bands or Do Wop have.

To be replaced with the insufferable, marginally talented rubbish of today's
sampling-based,
hip hop,
nasal voiced,
whoop-whoop,
over produced,
mindless drivel.
BS

As Dennis Miller used to say, "but that's just my opinion. I could be wrong."

Rock music isn't dead, but it's barely hanging on Empty Add one more to the list

In this month's issue of Premier Guitar Peter Frampton is featured.

Why? He's 66 yrs old. . . and has been diagnosed with a degenerative muscular disease which will eventually prevent him from being able to play.

He's on a farewell tour at he moment and judging by the clip, he's still sounding good:

But there again, while I have introduced my 20 year old son to the finer music of many of the above, many of the bands he likes, I like too.

And many of those wear those influences on their sleeves.

Lots of young bands playing great music, who salute and reference those people on the list, IMHO.

Besides, playing music keeps you young.

Mind you, we have lost some greats recently though......:-(

I heard a cracking version of ‘Behind blue eyes’ in a shop yesterday and asked the kid behind the counter who the artist was.... Limp Bizkit!!
Listening to Hoobastank right now - ‘The reason’; really good, musical tune!!
