Thunder II brass knob (1 unit)

I am looking for (1) brass knob for a 1983 Westone Thunder II v2, preferably lightly tarnished, although brand new will do too.

Replacement knobs for Westone are always a problem since they were proprietary items.You are fortunate that you are only looking for the plain knob and not the PEQ marked knobs, those are near impossible to locate.

Perhaps one of the members has an orignal spare to offer. If not, the brass ones are somewhat easier to replace with replicas from Armadilo Guitars.

These are dimensionally OK however the knurling is coarser than the originals. In your case it would stand out, but then so does that plastic thing you have on there now!

If you are handy you could "age" it and perhaps smooth out the high knurling a bit to make it look closer to the original.

I considered going to Armadillo, but it's a bit on the expensive side including shipment and 25% custom tax, especially for not original knobs that need a refitting (which granted I could perform).
On the other hand it seems that the region I live in at the moment had a very active Westone dealer in the late 80's, so my chances of running into a fixer upper Thunder 1 for 150-200 euros are very high. I could literally buy 5 Westies within a 100 km of my town this week, there is this worn-out and beaten Thunder 1 for 300 euros with all 3 desired pots, but its way too expensive for the state it's in.
Hell, maybe I will be back next message with an offer for Thunder spare parts.
