Looking at the binding on that Prestige seems to be coming away around the body or could just be the photo.
Been down to that auction house a good few times you really need to check the instruments out yourself as some of the descriptions are a little off the mark.

I recall you saying that Damian
I think thats probably a good rule of thumb for all guitars that we seem to be forgetting in this digital age
can't beat a good old fashioned guitar shop but alas, less and less of those these days

Yep the guitar shop, going, going, gone...
A good few have disappeared around my way.

I still miss (working in) mine too. A lot of good memories.

I struggle to think of one with a decent amount of used guitars without having to travel
used to have Cliff Owen, Monkey Business, the original Music Village in Chadwell Heath to name but a few
still have Denmark Street and the price tags that go with the location
couple of shops I like in Brighton but only get down there once or twice a year

Monkey Business, was a great shop with loads of vintage gear, long, long gone....
Cliff Owen passed away a few years back, it's now a tacky sell all kinds of crap shop.
The Shannon club(next to Cliff Owen) has been demolished.

I remember spending literally hours in Monkey Biz with my dad when I was a kid, like you say amazing selection of gear, sort of thing you'd have to go to Denmark St for now and pay through the nose for
My dad purchased his (then, now mine) Prestige 250 at Cliff Owen in about 86, went into to look at a Les Paul someone had recommended to him, saw the Westone, played the Westone never got as far as the Gibson!
I saw photos of Shannon's being pulled down on a pals facebook and it took me back to a blurry time in the early 90's, much like the long gone Kings (or Lacy Lady) now a LIDL and a McDonalds!
Drove through Barking for the first time in a few years a couple of days ago, completly unrecognizable
