Re: Fluffy Raider I on the bay
The owner thought that turning it into a fuzzy slipper would be more eye catching than the original two tone sparkle paint???

Re: Fluffy Raider I on the bay
I was the visionary that bought this guitar. The story behind it is that it was used on a 1985 tour by comedian and folk artist Mike Harding, hence the fur.
Underneath, the guitar is in superb condition. I guess the fur protected it, although it took me two days to carefully remove all the adhesive. There are no dings or scratches anywhere. The bridge is a bit corroded and could probably do with being replaced but I'm leaving it on for originality for now. I've given it a fret dress, re-strung and set it up and it plays beautifully.
Well worth the gamble!

Re: Fluffy Raider I on the bay
Cheers, guys. I've wanted a Raider since I first saw the ads and reviews in the 80's so it's an ambition finally realised. Getting a sparkly one was the icing on the cake.
It's my third Westone; I got one of the very early trans red Thunder II A's in '82 which I had to trade when I blew up my amp. I'll always regret losing that guitar and have never been able to find another in the same colour. I also had a white Rail bass that I had to sell when I moved house (space issues!).
Very happy to have a Westone again.

Congrats man, looks like a belter under that there fur!
I have to admit that I was hovering over the bid/buy button with this one, I just had a feeling it was spotless underneath, glad it is and it's got a new (more tasteful) home
