Found these on peePain U.K.

1, I think THIS has been on there before. Nice 'modification' there and how much!?! Suspect

2, And there is THIS. Very clean and original with a hard case, but for that price, it's going to be interesting to see if it gets any bids.

Oh yes, we've seen that first ThunderStrat before.

And why, oh why, can't my Thunder have a bridge like the second one??? Same year, but I'm stuck with stoopid barrel saddles!

Arrgghhh!!! (Tension reliever. Had to be done. As you were.)

Question - whats everyones opinion of the Thunder 1 active electronics?
To get the ball rolling I think they suck (tonally not the rest), the passive versions are much better.

Hi Grogg,

I'm lucky enough to have both the passive and active versions of the Thunder. I've just rebuilt my 1A and with the help of fellow member Barry and his 1A, we worked out if my Thunder's electrics were correct.

I've found with the active circuit turned on, is that the bass control is quite vague on my guitar. Also the treble control is very bright and can sound like an overdriven piezo when turned up full, very shrill.

I'm still trying to master the art of the active circuit with my guitar, but as long as I don't max out the tone and gain controls (especially with full humbuckers = LOUD!), I can get plenty of good tones from it.

The biggest problem I've had so far is with that centre indent tone pot. My caveman brain just wants to turn the tone up to 10 and leave it (like on every other guitar I own!). With the active on the 1A selected, this will give you a perforated eardrum, it's that bright!

Loud poo in my opinion, take the battery out and stop worrying about it.
If youre really determined put up a pic of the wiring.

Maybe. But I think you maybe also missing the point. Kicking this into overdrive isn't about making it sound 'sweet', it's very much about jumping volume to get on top of the band for soloing. It's not the sort of thing you'd use continuously to serenade yer sweetie!
Uncle Mats probably figured it might be handy to flip a switch onboard when you just wanna ROCK! affraid
In any event this isn't the right thread for discussing this topic.
