The Japanese Sun Rises Again...in the UK! Empty The Japanese Sun Rises Again...in the UK!

Came across this unusual offering from Trevor Wilkinson under the Fret King label:
LINK

It's officially a Gregg Wright signature/tribute guitar but I couldn't help but compare it to the Westone's own short-lived  Spectrum LX -X198SWG "Rising Sun"

Whatcherallthinkofthis?

Must be a very good quality guitar but I think the Spectrum is better looking!

I don't think it holds a candle to the Specy, but I was fascinated with the fact that the rising sun has made a return appearance at all. It seemed to die a quick death under the Westone label. Curious to see how long it's offered.

There were also quite a few made under "San Dimas", Jackson, Ibanez, Dean and others.
All using the "Rising Sun".
But I doubt these say 'Product of Japan'..

I much prefer the off-set graphic on the Spectrum LX. The Fret King version is just too symetrical for me.... if that makes sense. scratch

Exactly Adey.
Symmetry doesn't make sense primarily because the guitar horns are offset. It's also too large and overpowering.
Mats got it right.

Westone was prettier by far.

It doesn't get much better than the Speccy shape...
