And it would have been nice (and more legal) if he/she would annotate that the information came from our website. tsk tsk... at least give credit where credit it is due.

Nice one but do not think he will get any interest at that price. I agree would have been nice to credit our site for that info especially since TP was nice enough to take the time to answer the inquiry I sent him.

Of course it would but folk these days don't seem to have the class to ask permission, and I grew tired of chasing these twats many years ago, as I'm sure did Barry. Most times I just got abused and had it pointed out to me that anything on the web that isn't passworded or otherwise protected is fair game, which is true, but beside the point!! 

David Blair took a real hard stance against these type of posts and spent  - I'm guessing here - an inordinate amount of time and effort to either be credited for the info, or to have the info redacted; it drove him to distraction and, in my opinion, life's far too short and brutal enough without arguing the niceties of copyright infringement with internet trolls.

Yeah, this is just another instance of the dumbing down of society and the disrespect of any intellectual property. If you did this sort of thing on a University paper, etc., you'd have your keester handed to you with a big "F" on it. It's called plagiarism there, and infringement elsewhere, but who cares nowadays?

Like John I have attempted to correct erroneous statements in ads for Mats products, but most times it gets ignored or I get a mostly incomprehensible derogatory reply.

In the grand scheme of things we're small potatoes, but a lot of people have laboured mightily to preserve the Mats legacy. And sadly, despite a copyright notice on the web site, to most of these mouth breathers, it means nothing.

I don't have a problem with people citing the material but common decency, let alone the law, says you don't pass it off as your own work.
