Westone Thunder I Bass
Hi all
Just looking for a little advise really.
My husband has been a musician for many years, Bass, Guitar, Lead Vocals etc.
He was given a Westone Thunder I Bass by a family friend and has kept it for a few years.
Anyhoo to cut a long story short we are looking to sell it however I am really not sure on what price I should hope to achieve which is why I thought someone on here could maybe help me.
If you want to know anything else please feel free to ask
Sharon

Re: Westone Thunder I Bass
Hi Sharon. You have a tidy solid bass there, I'd expect it to go for around £150 max, but there are a lot of these around at the moment.

Re: Westone Thunder I Bass
Thank you Clive for getting back to me.
May try putting it on Ebay with a reserve as I've had it on Gumtree previously with no success.
Thanks

Thanks Sharon
That will just help anyone interested here on the forum. It certainly looks to be in fine condition judging from the photos....any issues you know about or is it good to go?

Hey Damian, hope you had a great trip....that weight thing is normally my soft southern line, did they use different woods during the production period of the T1?Westbone wrote:How much does it weigh?

Re: Westone Thunder I Bass
Yep good trip thanks.
Picking up a crate of guitars and things from Heathrow tomorrow. One of the guitars is a Prestige 227 in red burst with case...
The timber on the Thunder 1's is hit and miss. Some are light but the majority are heavy old fookers.

True, the difference between my 82 1a and 83 t1 is daft, the 82 being much heavier

Re: Westone Thunder I Bass
So what would be considered a good weight of a thunder 1 bass?

Re: Westone Thunder I Bass
If you knew what this lot cost! it's no birthday present. Airfreight alone was £582.
Also obtained one of these.

ooooh... like the Clavioline, Damian; it's working, yes?
Is this gear from the RSA?
Interested in what the vintage scene is like there; I sort-of assume it's a little like NZ in that respect being out of the way? Not that many bargains left in NZ now, especially for the likes of the big names, but there are still Japanese guitars to be found and the locally made stuff - Jansen, Commodore, Holden et al - is commanding HUGE prices in the second hand market!

Re: Westone Thunder I Bass
Yep all from SA.
Still some good bargains there but are getting few and far between these days. It helps that the Rand is 19 to 1 UKP at the moment.
As for the Clavioline working? no idea as yet. Nothing to plug it into over there. Has a weird 7 pin plug from amp to keyboard which I'll modify so to operate with a normal jack.
Here's one on this track, sounds a little like a sitar.
