A very reasonable £10.50 at the moment, the serious bids haven't started yet

She's a beauty. Can't keep my hands off her.

Yes, its an option. Anything to subserve this hellish GAS. Shocked Very Happy Laughing 12 hour drive? Hmph, its cake.

I've asked the vendor if he'd send it to a depot on the US/Canada border in North Dakota - that cuts my commute to 1.5 hours.

Matter/antimatter, astrophysics and Mats (Westones). This blue Westone is so pretty, it could function as a natural balance when placed in proximity to the rough-hewn appeal of _The Mule_ aka the TV yellow Vantage... a kind of "anti-Mule" if you will.

AFAIK, Spares hasn't got any more bases left, but he's got the washers, bolts and wang bars... Steve has a fix for the baseplate if it's stripped but I'm picking that over the years the locks have been lost... God, someone in here buy it!! Laughing Cool

I've not paid more than £130 for any of mine, and I'm soon to be an owner of 5, so I see no cause for alarm particularly ...

Hah, I wish they were done in a nice shade of green! But no, it's just poor camera quality. The body is routed for an HH setup, and the fretboard are rosewood, so it couldn't be an MX or SX. It's just a shoddy camera.

Yeah; green would have been cool!! But that is just(!) a black one shot either in a. bad lighting, or b. with an el-cheapo camera, or c. all of the above!! Laughing

Alright; how's this for a punt: based solely on the size of the bridge posts, I reckon this is a DX body as the ST has normal woodscrews affixing the bridge, whereas the DX had a Bendmaster with the corresponding large holes for said posts! To muddy the waters a little though, I can't see any sign of the holes for the stringlock on the headstock...

Anyone else have a punt?! Colt... Polly... Guy... Warren... Barry... Ian...???!! Laughing

Anyway, given that it has a spare neck it's almost worth bidding on as a resto project....

Is green meant to be an unlucky colour though and that's why they didn't do them? scratch

To be honest John, I've only given it a cursory glance... I've been too busy lately messing about with bows and arrows  , in between decorating clown , to look on eBay, and I definitely can't afford any more projects/guitars at the moment - more's the pity! Rolling Eyes

John, yer eyes are a hell of a lot better than mine! Shocked You should be in forensics or sumpthin'.

The pic so rough as to be of little help, but my guess would also be a DX, only because I see an opening above the neck pup which I'm assuming is the truss rod access. The ST's is in the headstock.

In any event, the important thing is that it's an Uncle Mats guitar--and with 2 of those amazing necks!! Great little project for someone. Too bad it's a wa-a-a-y over there! tongue

Yeah; everything the seller said is correct; they are the top of the line Spectrum etc.; they are set neck and are a very nice guitar. There was a red one here on Trademe that had a NZ$525 BIN which after a bit of thought, I didn't bid on; still feel like I should have had a tilt at it... Rolling Eyes

I wish the top of the line models weren't always black. Well, I guess that wasn't so with the Thunder, but the Pantera X790 and Spectrum LX bass are both black only and I really don't like black. Neutral

They aren't; the Panteras had pinks, whites, blues and reds and the Spectrum FX I passed on was red and from memory were available in white and Silverstone as well.

The X790 and Spectrum LX bass are both black only. I don't play guitar, so I'm not familiar with their paint colors. At least guitarists got choices. Black sucks.

Refinishing works!! Give it a shot if thats what your stuck with. No magic to it... just go slow, take your time in sanding off the old paint and use good quality reagents. There is a good tip list for this avenue on the other Mats site. You may wish to go and have a read.

I like keeping things original, though. Even if it means a color I don't like. My Dimension IV bass is black, but it's in great shape so I'm leaving it as such. My Aria Jazz looks like it got run over but I'm leaving it as is.
