Westone Explorer ??
I am the new owner of what appears to be a Matsumoku made Explorer. It is near exact Gibson copy. My ?? is did Westone manufacture an Explorer copy? Structurally it is of excellent workmanship and wood quality. 3 piece mahogany body w/ 1 piece mahogany neck, 2 piece headstock. lengthwise jointed. The pots are full size, pickups are single coil low output in humbucker housing. This could be a clue to the brand.
I would estimate it's year model to be '78-'80. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Westone Explorer ??
Thank You. No , set neck with a long tenon that extends half way between the pick up cavities.

I'd be really interested to learn more about this. Can you post some pictures?
