Sacrilege but... anyone put a bigsby on a concord?

Hi all,

I'm new here and, sorry to come in with a probably contentious topic but... has anyone installed a bigsby trem on a concord I?

I was thinking that the space below the bridge is decent enough for it to look pretty cool. 

so

i) Has anyone done it?

ii) Does the scale length, bridge or through-body stringing cause any major issues.

Are there any less intrusive Bigsby-ish options?  Without holes drilled into the top?

I have heard of the vibramate (which isn't anything saucy but more a bigsby seat)...

Yup B5...if you must.
But I would seriously reconsider. If you still want to go ahead have a look at the Vibramate which allows installing without driving screws into the body.

The trem would be worth more than the guitar...  

I'd also change the pups to some decent one's.

I just finished installing a Bigsby style tremolo on my Concord and it works great! I had looked at different tremolos for days and decided this generic Bigsby style trem was both the correct size and easiest to work with (and the price was right, a little over $20). Next step was to find a top load bridge to replace the string through. This was more difficult, I only found one seller on Ebay from China that had a 70mm bridge for $10. It took two months to get the part and they accidentally sent a 65mm bridge. However, the front two mounting holes were the same as the original bridge and the narrow width is really just a cosmetic disappointment so I proceeded as planned. After collecting the parts on my workbench I was able to install both pieces in about 30 minutes. Putting on guitar strings is a bit difficult, but not terrible. Overall I am very happy with it even though that massive piece of metal kinda throws off the visual balance of the guitar.

Here is a picture of my heavily modified Concord. I've had this since the 80s and have replaced almost everything. List of changes:

• Sanded and stained body, no clear coat.
  
• New neck pickup
  
• Replaced pick guard (original was cracked when I bought it)
  
• Replaced tuning pegs with Grover locking tuners
  
• Swapped thru-body bridge with top-load style
  
• Added tremolo / tailpiece
  
• New input jack and plate
  
• I may have replaced several electrical components, can't remember...
