series - series/parallel p90's in a Spectrum ST help Empty series/parallel p90's in a Spectrum ST help

Ok so with all the recent talk of interesting wiring options, I turned to something "simpler" in my ST with 2 HBp90's 1vol 1tone-p/p and 3way switch.
I've looked and looked and probably overlooked and can't find exactly what I want, which is a series/parallel switch when in middle position ie: pulled up = parallel, down = series.
Each p90 has just hot and ground wires.
I found this which is close:
http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7440801/Guitar%20Wiring/SGSeriesParallel.jpg
but it uses a 4PDT switch whereas I just have the normal ST 3way.

is this even possible ?

any help greatly recieved.

remember I'm a noob in this department still.....so laymans terms are appreciated  Smile

Pure laymans terms.
Why complicate matters? Just buy a switch. It's all there for ya!

Oy vey! Always with the spending!

want to keep the switch as stock as possible, if possible.
why can't it be done on a standard 3way?

Having 2 p 90's in series is a useless sound.
Just one big humbucker. To bassy. Wouldn't even bother.

Have you tried it?
Remember these aren't true p90's, but hb sized gizmos

p90's-h/bucker sized p90's, difference= nil
Same thing in a different package.

Yes I've tried it.

When you have 2 pups on usually it is in parallel in phase.
Parallel halves the dc resistance.
i.e. 1 pup measures 10 ohms, parallel will half that when 2 on together,. Therefore 2 pups on in parallel = 10 ohms. Hence the volume output does not drop.

In series 2 pups on = 20 ohms. Not a good sound.

Don't believe me! go ahead and try it.

Think Danelectro Pete.
Balanced output jangle on either neck or bridge, but a big boom when both are on (middle position) And it uses a simple 3 way toggle switch eh.

Yeah I read as much as I could on this, some say mud, some say just the opposite...though not many.

If you look at it from my angle, which is everything  is a learning experience, then there is something to be gained from this experiment, be it a lesson in "never do this again" or not.

still gonna try it.

Dano lipsticks are about 3.3 or thereabout's.
In series together around 7 or so.

Pete, I meant the Dano as an example of series wiring. 'Didn't think you were gonna go all lipsticky on me.
We've already got one fruitcake on ebay doing that to mats guitars.  Razz
