Re: Chaser: -
Thanks for this.
Unfortunately we can't come if the 23 March gig ends up happening - we're in France that week.

Re: Chaser: -
Be gentle, I had never played with the band before this. The vid was taken by my Mrs on her mobile phone so is rather bass player centric.

Re: Chaser: -
Playing live is about the most fun you can have with your clothes on, and most in here have stopped playing out so I reckon you're pretty safe!!
You're certainly concentrating something fierce, eh!!

Re: Chaser: -
Yeah, was very uptight about it, hungover from the night before (rugby) and jumping up half way through their set to play someone elses kit with no band practice was a bit daunting. Havent played live like this for 30 years and the pub was small very crowded and right on top of us.corsair wrote:You're certainly concentrating something fierce, eh!!

Re: Chaser: -
Glad we dropped Psychokiller from our set, it would have led to some unflattering comparisons
By comparison with some of the places we've been playing, it's positively spacious though. In one gig I sat at a table with the punters because there wasn't enough space in the performing area.

Hi Don,
Its the Haywain, apparently under new ownership.
Don't think Ive ever been to Caldicot except to play golf.

Great job Grogg! Seriously. Love seeing live music. Your singer did a great job, too. Looks like you had a lively crowd which always helps.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Chaser: -
Gig last night seemed to go well, played 3 encores, main plucking finger is sore. In a way glad Im not playing tonight, bloody tired as getting a bit old for 2.00am back to base at the end of a working week.
Forgotten how many things can go wrong, the mixing desk started to pack up which meant I didnt go through front of house. Then another of the keyboard channels started to go iffy mid song - the guitarist started trying to fix it while he held a chord but stood on my lead - I must have been in a down stance at the time so I had to stay in a crouched position to avoid breaking the lead otherwise we would have been left with just singer and drums. A rizla pack jammed under a slider knob was a fix.
Happy days..

Sorry to have missed that gig. Mrs Don whisked me off to the Gower for a cheeky birthday weekend.

A night out in the industrial Ebbw valley at Abercarn or a romantic weekend on the beautiful beeches of the Gower peninsula - must have been a tough call.
