Doubt it's OEM but strange things do happen in Uncle Mats workshop.
If that's a true representation of the colour, yes, it is hideous. But I could see it being used on stage by some Glam rocker.

My Westbury Standard is funky metallic purple. I like it anyway....

Yes, that's the one. It plays really nicely. It was customised by the "String Surgeon" who is somewhere up your way - Wakefield I think (It's all oop north to me...)
Anyway, he has done an excellent job, so he's worth a plug!

I saw the purple Westbury as well, I too was tempted to have a punt but I just couldn't get over the fact that it was purple   
I'm only kidding, I know its all subjective....it is after all a window shaking Westbury under that grapey exterior  

I'm sure that purple is a really cool and fashionable colour again

Objectively, your second reply did sound kind of like a scam, since they do use a similar approach (I know from experience), but you spelled everything correctly unlike the scammers,  .  But it did notwarrant that response.  And your initial reply didn't sound like a scam reply at ALL!  John's right, unresolved issues.
