Spectrum FX tremolo cavity cover
As noted in other threads, I recently bought a well worn Spectrum FX. I've been able to replace the missing treble knob from my stock of bits and replacing the jack socket has made the guitar a joy to play.
The last missing piece is a tremolo cavity cover. I had intended to take one from my Spectrum ST but although the cover itself is the same size, the screw holes are in sufficiently different places to dissuade me from attempting to reuse.
Plan B is therefore to make a replacement myself. I'm pretty unhandy at this kind of thing but I'll give it a go, so
- What kind of plastic sheet should I use ?
- Where in the UK can I get it ?
- How should I cut it (electric jigsaw, hacksaw, lightsaber) ?
Any advice gratefully received (and maybe even followed )

Re: Spectrum FX tremolo cavity cover
Most of them to varying degrees but the middle ones are the worst.
Any 3 out of 4 of the outer holes align and the fourth will be a 1 or 2 mm out
The middle ones are maybe 5mm out. I realise I could just frig it to fit but I'd prefer not to

Re: Spectrum FX tremolo cavity cover
Make your own from an old DVD case or similar... or, if you fancy spending some coin, take one of the other plastic covers off the guitar and hie thee forth to your local plastics supplier with some measurements - or better yet the whole guitar! - and get them to cut you one from their stock.
I got one done some years back in Dunedin, NZ and it worked out just fine financially and they drilled and countersunk the screw holes for me as well.

I'm not sure where I'd go about finding my local plastics supplier
Maybe a DVD case is the way forwards.

Re: Spectrum FX tremolo cavity cover
I used the bottom of a plastic container from the dollar store for my DX. Che-e-e-p Bastid!
The DVD case would be better quality however. Never tried one. Is it large enough?
