Re: Unidentified Westone
Hello Steeno and Welcome!
First, you must establish if it is a Matsumoku Westone or whether it is one of the modern Korean copies. Do you have any photos of it or are there any serial numbers written on?
I suggest that you check out Westone.info (link at the top of this page) to see if the model in question is listed there. If it is a genuine Westone then £40 is a bargain!
I hope this helps.

Re: Unidentified Westone
i went ahead and bought it for alot less!!
brought it home and give it a good clean, set up and new strings!
Its a fantastic sounding and playing machine! even compared to my gibson lp and tokai's!!
well its black cellulose paint, one piece maple bolt on neck, single volume control and a pup selecter switch.
The westone logo on the head stock is a gold outline with a black centre and a black headstock, the neck is also bound.
Hope this helps anyone who can identify this guitar as i cant find any info anywhere!!

Re: Unidentified Westone
If it's a Rich copy, then it's a Korean. You're right, there isn't much known about them at all... perhaps you could enlighten us as to what the pups are, construction etc.?

Re: Unidentified Westone
Yep, agree this will be Korean rather than Uncle Mat. Nothing wrong with that if it's a player.
Under £40 --- gotta be a bargain
