what a difference some frets make
Hi , i finally got round to giving the thunder a refret , as mentioned before some tard had filed the frets flat , so low that they couldn't be crowned so with some heat from the old trusty solder iron and the wee end cutters the frets (i use the term loosly) were removed , a wee clean up of the slots and the new frets were in and filed flush , then levelled and dressed then a wee polish , the action on the thunder is 1.5mm at the bass side and just slightly less at the other (i'm not usually one for low action as i'm a heavy handed git with v picks or brass picks) but this is playing rather nicely if i do say so myself , cheers

I paid a guy to do the frets once - last time. He did a great job, but now I know that is easy to do. Once you get the tools, it really is worth doing.

Re: what a difference some frets make
Oh yeah, great job man. I need to do that on a guitar or two, just a little hesitant. I can't stand "vintage" frets. Just can't bend on them the way you can with larger frets, no matter what some people want to say! Thanks for posting.
