bargain (not)
Yet another fantasist. You'd think that if hes asking that price he'd know what he's selling, and that it would actually be complete.

For a "1983 Westone Thunder IA", that's one of the nicest 1984 Thunder Is I've seen...westcoaster wrote:Yet another fantasist. You'd think that if hes asking that price he'd know what he's selling, and that it would actually be complete.

As for the price, he must have typed that first '2' on the price by mistake. Also, it always bugs me when people put things like: "no cavity covers, both easily replaceable" - well, if that's the case, f***ing replace them, then!

Re: bargain (not)
If I was playing his game I'd estimate the value of my all original Thunder 1 at a starting price of £450
He should be able to get the covers at his local westone shop - apparently there's 5 on Hoax's street.

Never seen this one before. Is it a Mats or MIK? If Mats I need to add it to the web site.Sgt. Vimes wrote:That's not a bargain, THIS is a bargain!

That's exactly the sort of thing that boils my wee wee! 99 times out of 100, it's virtually impossible to replace the parts - that's why they never bothered! Another favourite is - "Needs a new set of strings." Surely, they could whack a £3 set of strings on, so you could play it straight out of the box...!
Rant over..

Of course - how silly of me to forget about the thousands of Westone outlets dotted about the country...?!

Re: bargain (not)
This is a very nice Thunder 3A (in my eyes), but I don't think it's worth £500. Not as bad as the Thunder 1A above though.

And, surely that's a neck through, not a set neck, bass.

Re: bargain (not)
Yep, very nice indeed & quite unusual being such a late version (first one I remember seeing for sale, I think, at least recently). That said, £500 seems a tad too steep to me - you can usually get a 'traditional' Thunder III for fifty quid either side of £300, so that's a bit of a premium for something a bit unusual. The red IS nice, though...Annoying Twit wrote:This is a very nice Thunder 3A (in my eyes), but I don't think it's worth £500. Not as bad as the Thunder 1A above though.

Also, surely that's an '85 with that serial number?
