RAGE

Hi Folks,


Over the last 3 or 4 years and have built up a small but to me special collection of Westone guitars from various parts of the Uk and Europe as well as some from members on here. Having returned from living in Finland a couple of months ago I've had to reorganise my life so I need to cut down my collection. I will be sad to see these go, but I hope I will make a few folks out there happy. All these guitars have been in good clean indoor surroundings, but some stored for the last two years so some have not beeen played at all over that time. I will test them and give you my best beginners view of how they are if you require it. I think this is a great forum, so before I throw them to the mercy of ebay I wanted to offer them to members here for one week only. So I have as follows:

Clipper 6 project – I just ran out of steam to complete this one. I rechromed the bridge and bought new pots. I think most of the other parts are there, but dont hold me to that. The rest of the guitar is orginal as far as I know,apart from bridge tuners which I scavenged some new ones. I think the prices are pretty fair based on condition and what I paid for them. Happy to pack and deliver any of these to mainland UK, can also deliver to most parts Europe I think. Never tried USA deliveries if anyone interested over there, but again willing to try. Estimate about £15 - £25 for guitars for mainland UK delivery, depending on insurance costs but will confirm. All other destinations I will happily get quotes for but they will of course be higher. You are also of course welcome to visit me here and try before buying, but I only have a little vox practise amp to try out on. I am based near Leicester. Well I finished the Clipper Six, didn't get a chance to take pics before Steve G. A. S. Man moved in like a vulture and talked me into a trade! So I'm now the proud owner of an Aria PR Elite in showroom condition!
Hope Steve will update us with pics of my hard work!

Hi Sarge, I agree it would be great to see how this looked ressurected! Perhaps if the pictures do pop up you could also post here or PM me on what you did to the bits I sent you..you never know I might have the courage to actualy complete a project myself one day...

Well I first removed all the black nail varnish with acetone, then used car body filler and black paint, then a little superglue drop-fill in the main gouge on the lower horn, body front.
Then lots and lots of glue drop-fills on all the small chips and dinks.
Then I flattened down the top with 600 grit wet n dry, going on up to 1200, then G3 compound on the buffer mop, finally used Maguires Ultimate Compound with a lambswool mop to a lovely gloss finish.
The switches you included were the wrong kind, luckily I had 2 correct double pole switches in my bits box, did the trick nicely.
installed all the electrics, oh and I recrowned the frets and oiled the fretboard.
Turned out nice again

IOh and I also put a new set of chrome saddles on, to match the lovely rechromed bridhe. ;-)

Thanks for that..alwasy great to get pointers from all the people on here with such great experience of bringing old lost Westones back to life..maybe one day I will have the courage to do the same

One other small point..anyone any idea why the title of my post here changed to 'RAGE'..I certainly didn't do it and as others who have met me will hopefully confirm I am not an angry person???
