Thunder pick ups and who produced them and equivilent pups to purchase?
Can you please answer a question/s about thunder pups please. The mmk45 pups and Hammer 1 pups are these pups one and the same as I have read that my thunder 1A was built with 2 x Hammer 1 pups and as stated in a previous message my thunder 1A does infact have an mmk45 bridge and another simular looking, [on the top with one row with cross heads and the row plain], pup but with a plastic underneath for the neck. I have read in the westone history that they made their own pick ups and also that they use other factories for westone pups and other metalwork was infact supplied by Gotoh and or Maxon factories. If you are able to confirm this do they still produce guitar gear to your knowledge and do they have equivilent pups that are obtainable now to purchase?
Kind Regards,
Gead

Hammer I and MMK 45's are the same thing.
They're not manufactured any more.
Does your 'plastic bottom' pickup happen to be black plastic? Any markings?
Pictures help.
There's a ton of pickups out there to choose from.
These sound excellent in the neck position on a Thunder I or IA
