Quite a find! Looks to be in great condition. STEEP starting price, though!

Fair price.
Prefare the stop/tailpiece versions sound much fuller.

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
Fair starting price given that x390pw has languished a good while now at a mere $1 less. The final price (or lack of bids) might be a good snapshot of the current economic state of things. We shall see I suppose either way...
No actives I would assume as he makes no mention of it.

Okay. Good points, I suppose. $1,000 is just a scary number at my age, I guess. haha We'll see what happens to it. I've got it on watch!

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
My wife said I could get it, but I decided to pass.
I have too many guitars that I think are too rare/special to play, there's no need for this one to become another one of my case queens.

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
Well, I'm sure it isn't helping the seller's cause that it is listed in 'bridges' rather than 'guitars'.
Kinda limits potential buyers from finding it.

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
It's in musical instruments + gear, guitars, ect. bridges!
Type in Westone guitars, it's there. Quite easy to find in Ebay.

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
But if you go to "electric guitars" and type in "Westone", you don't see it.
It isn't a guitar bridge, it is an electric guitar. Strangely enough, there is a section made especially for electric guitars, as opposed to bridges. I would imagine that most people who are looking for electric guitars would probably go to the electric guitar category, rather than the guitar bridges category, no?
So even if it *can* be found under guitar bridges, why would you NOT want to put it under "electric guitars"?
Of course, no skin off my nose if someone wants to make it harder to find their stuff.

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
when a listing is first created on ebay, there are a number of things that can happen automatically, such as the specific category in which to place the item. i would guess that since the word Tremolo is the last word in the title, a keyword algorithm placed it where it is currently found in the sub-category.
that placement can be changed if the seller is looking closely at the details, but with less than 100 buys/sales, some fine print details of selling on ebay may not yet have come to his attention.
little things like that are easy to overlook for a less-experienced seller. he just thought out a really really good title for the listing, and then let the listing thingy do whatever it does....
and *poof* it's a tremolo!

Supreme, Chalupa!
Glad it's on here.
And yes, I still hold to my theory of there being more than 48 of these X350's!

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
i've been reading the design-development-history thread
on pg 2 of that thread, 2 members are asking TP if he knows about their guitars, which seem to be the same as the guitar at the beginning of this thread, including the stamp on the fretboard that says X350
part of his response:
by tpresley on Tue Apr 06, 2010 3:07 pm
Hey Guys,
You have 2 of the rarest production models we ever did. Frankly, these were made at my request for personal use. I wanted the maple, but not the Kahler. Since I couldn't mod the maple body without destroying them, and not wanting to hand build one, I did the next best thing, I ordered 6 culled from the MA run and had the Bendmaster installed at the factory! Long story short, b4 I could get mine set up, we ended up selling them to dealers at our Expo. I did make one other production run of 6 more and I don't really know how many of this batch ended up in the US since every one was grabbed by either fans at stores or collectors. My opinion ... maybe the best electric ever made.
so maybe only 12 of the X350MA set up at the factory with Bendmaster Deluxe.
at another place in the thread he states that only 96 were made of the X390 class.
excerpt from his second post in the thread
by tpresley on Mon Feb 01, 2010 1:21 pm
... "I do know that we made 96 of the 390 class Pantera models in various colors. There were only about 48 of the curly maple ones made world wide, and only a "few" with the Bendmaster. Most maples were made without trem and others with the Kahler."
he seems to indicate that X350 and X390 are the same class and together only 96 were made.
so purely as a guess to how many of each;
48 - X350MA = 12 w/BMD, 18 w/Kahler, 18 w/hardtail, (he says most were made without trem so probably less kahlers and more hardtails)
48 - X390 = 24 pearly white, 24 caspian blue

How bout the X390 DBK eh? Colt had one, I have one, Rabin has or had one, and I've seen at least 2 pics on the net of other ones.

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
looking closely at the price list there are 4 options in the X390 class. are these what TP is referring to when he says 96 were made?
usa piricelist
so, if we speculate even numbers for each of the options of X390 then you get 24 each, maybe.
but he says X390 class when he mentions the numbers produced.
so then, if 48 are maple, is that number to include both the X390MA and the X350MA?
*edit* i see on the price list that X350 and X390 are named as Pantera Deluxe. maybe that's why TP seems to not make any distinction between the two model numbers.*
i don't know.
i have never seen an X390MA. (that means nothing special, i have no insider knowledge)
was the X390MA ever made?
i'm not totally clear about which guitar model TP was speaking about...
in the other thread, TP seems to be saying that the two X350MA guitars in question (like the one that begins this thread) were the same as the model he requested for his personal use and likely were of the batch that was made for him and never made it into his possession.
so did TP mean that he wanted the X350MA or the X390MA?

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
Don't you even get me started on the x390ma, Mike...
It has been bantered around the forum on different occasions. Nearest we can collectively figure Westone used that as a designation on the price list only to indicate an x350 without a hardtail, no catalog picture ever and in my travels about the etherworld I've not caught whiff one of any out there... and I've been looking nigh a dozen years now for one.
No known examples of an x350 with DPDT's installed to tap or phase the humbuckers, just the rare few with active circuitry.

My x350 doing a USA tour before heading to Australia ????
Started at Buckeye Arizona 85326 then to Bell Gardens California 90201 before Erlanger Kentucky 41018 and now at Memphis Tennessee 38118 according to the tracking details. At least at some stage I hope it reaches Brisbane Australia 4000

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
If UPS is handling it here domestically that actually makes some sense. I've updated "THE LIST" adding you as an owner for now... whether or not someone else is removed remains to be seen.
Check it for active pups when it does get there 8 months from now...

Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
Jiust to put it right Ice, They don't have active pickups.
It's an active tone control circuit.
Re: So. Who will snatch this one up?
I appreciate the correction, Damian. You are certainly right there and what's more I should have caught my misinformation on my own. Thanks.
