WESTONE SPECTRUM DX - $60 (CRESCENT CITY)

Great price! I thought I was doing OK getting mine for $75...without some bits.
Then again, mine wasn't the elusive Bandmaster model.

I've been in communication with the seller on this one. It is about an hour south and intend on adding it to the Dust Magnet collection soon (if I put it directly behind my black LX my wife & child will never notice it

~ DONE! A secret journey and it is home! The case has the provenance of an 05/02/2002 British Airways sticker, and appears to be alligator or some other reptile (possibly faux)! The thing is in amazing shape... chrome is clean, very few scratches in the paint - one big chip on the headstock, but otherwise... I'm dizzy - the back looks new!

I'll be doing before & after pix this weekend... but it isn't going to take much to make this thing shine. The chrome is spotless - even has the allen wrenches!

So - any guesses who from New York called the seller and asked if they would ship this? (I don't know - Anyone confessin'?)

In my excitement, I exaggerated this prize's condition (like when I'm "chatting with babes all day, Napoleon" - Kip, from Napoleon Dynamite). Its in excellent shape but is going needs some elbow grease. I really must buy a surface scratch remover that Chad recommended.

And then, there is, this... uh-oh. Me thinks these are replacements in this '86 DX. Am I correct?

Interestingly enough, I played this new acquisition for a little while and then plugged in my LX and I honestly couldn't hear a difference (its not polite to laugh). To Ice's comment of "its only a DX" - both models have practically the same specs - 'xplain me the difference (I can count pickups .

The Westone info site says that both models have the UBCs, but my LX has MMK45s - hepp me sumbodie - are the UBCs and MMK45s the same?

Alrighty - a little research and I see where good guy Barry referred to some Spectrums having the MK45s and later ones having the UBCs - so now I know. Either way, I'm thrilled with this DX and it ls looking sharp!

In my defense Mark you will note that I was winking after making that spurious comment.
