does anyone know what happened to that one?
Hi,
I stumbled over a thread in a Dutch forum where there's a picture of a stripped x790. Does someone in here know anything about that one? It might possibly be for sale and could be brought back to life.

Read the entries on the forum and I'm a native speaker. He got it for free and disappeared after a few weeks. Not after bragging about his restoration project and what he was after, promising to post photo's of the development 2 years ago. Well, poop happens. Who am I to judge. What do you need?

Not that I need anything, I just thought it would be a nice project for someone in here (including me of course
) if he abandoned the restauration...

I 'needed' a rainbow II, the German guy thought it untrustworthy to deal with paypall, thought it was fair to just go with his bank account as if this was trustworthy, just saying. Don't get me wrong I love Germans in general! That includes you.

that lacks a bit of logic...

I'm stupefied by your comment. Am I overlooking something?
Could you please explain for I don't get it.
If I transfer the money direct into his bank-account there is absolutely no guarantee I could make a claim if the guitar never arrives!
Paypall was acquired by ebay 10 years ago and for 40% of ebay users it is the preferred method of doing business according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal . Do you realise how much money is involved?
Scams do happen with Paypall I have to admit but usually it is the buyer not the seller that is the victim.

Sorry, the logic lacks in the seller's behaviour of course. Your explanation is absolutely correct, so I also don't understand the seller. He can't really expect you to transfer this amount of money without any safety guarantee. I always use paypal when dealing through the intenet, it's really the best way to go.
