Spectrum III blueburst

a westone 'transition' model on ebay UK. this looks nice nice

it has the late model concord/thunder body shape with blue-burst finish, small concord headstock, spectrum H-S-H configuration (but no mention in the listing of push/pull pots), switchmaster knobs ("unfinished replicas"), tekglid trem, 5-way blade switch.

only a few bumps and bruises
one that seems significant:
the seller states "There is some chipping to the nut, but it doesn't affect playability or intonation at all... " but i find that hard to believe just from looking at the pics provided. i'm sure it is 'playable' but, intonation? that thing looks like some chunks gone on the fretboard side. check the last pic

Yeah that nut is in nasty shape (how the hell does that happen except through incorrect stringing, maybe she was strung lefty for a time?)

The burst is interesting, kinda purple-y blue, but overall she just doesn't seem to have the Spectrum "vibe" to me, ya know? A collector's item for sure though.

Hoax

I personally think that is one helluva beautiful guitar, and has all the "vibe" if not more, of a spectrum. If I had the cash available I would be on it like a vegetarian on a sneaky bacon sandwich!

Oooooh... Pretty!

The intonation is spot on, the only problem with the nut seems to be a little binding (Goes 'ping' slightly when you use the trem, but only acoustically). The tone knobs are push/pull for coil tap and phase reverse on the bridge pickup. I'll have to add a couple more pictures, most of the paint chips aren't showing up as they're on the edges. I'll be quite happy if this one doesn't sell, gave it a thorough workout yesterday and really will miss it.

I think she's gorgeous!

Played it for a couple of hours again today - auction cancelled, I'm keeping it.
