Welcome Stephan. Does the label on yours resemble this one?...

The link is from the archive site that our fellow forumite Barry maintains. If you could get some pictures of yours taken and email them to me I can get them up for all of us to peek at and give you more opinions on it.

Hello Stephen and welcome here.
I don't recognize that particular model number but it could be a legitimate Mats. The information we have shows the "W" vintage models as having only one letter prefix, not two, so my guess would be a later build.
We would need some pictures before saying too much more.
As Iceman has directed you click HERE for some idea of what I'm talking about (scroll to the bottom of the page for the Acoustics).

I don't recognize that logo at all. MIJ yes, but is it a Mats?
Have we found something previously unknown here? Unless someone has more info I think this will end up under the Unidentified Models section of the web site.

Sorry Chad, I seem to have accidentally trashed your post!
My apologies. I'm working on the tablet computer outside and I did something dumb wif my thumb! Bloody touch screen!
The comment about the birdie logo not being suitable on an acoustic may be so, but that didn't appear until the 80's anyway. This still doesn't look like anything we have collected to date on the website. The other odd thing is the use of a second letter in the model reference. "W" would likely be "western" meaning "dreadnought" design, but what is the "A"?

Tom appears to have gone away. My last message to him is still sitting in the outbox after a year! Hasn't been picked up.theChad wrote:...We may have stumbled on something new! Someone ask Tom.
