artists / bands ahead of the curve...
Just bombing around YouTube tonight and stumbled across this on Irish TV...
https://www.youtube.com/v/PaTwi6IuUD4
Came across Gary by pure accident back in my teens and thought he was either crazy or brilliant. I guess he was both. Have not kept up much at all with his career, but he can certainly be seen as something of a pioneer back in his day.
Who else can you boys put up as having started out abit ahead of the curve?

One of the best bands i've seen in recent years is the 'Virginmarys' if theyre gigging near you dont miss them I think they hail from Sgt Vimes part of the multiverse. One of the best drummers you'll ever see and looks like he doesnt even have the strength to pick up the sticks.

I guess they won't be everyone's cup of tea on here but even after nearly 30 years of listening to The Smiths they still amaze me. They released so much quality material in such a short time. Johnny Marr was only 24 when they split up ..makes me feel really old now I'm 40. I've spent endless hours agonising over learning his guitar parts. The bass playing was pretty amazing too and Morrissey's lyrics are just hilarious.

I never couldn't really get into the smiths but mr marrs guitar on The The, Mind Bomb is just great. Still one of my faves and I generally lean to metal. Timeless music.

Nice John! First heard Atomic Dog back in 1982 in JC playing intramural BBall with a group of guys from Ohio and was blown away. Truly one of the most successful fusion artists of any genre.
Widening things abit here one other that always comes to my mind is Louis Armstrong. The man laid down THE rulebook for entire generations to follow, and not just with his playing. A paradigm shift can be heard here...

and a couple more from a magazine i have from 1979 called Sweet Potato
