New Forum Category: FAQ
I have added an FAQ category under the New Here? Forum.
This will be a locked category, accessible to Mods and Admins only for consistency's sake.
Initially I'd like to put in picture posting info since that seems to be the most asked question here by newbies, aside from, "How much is my guitar worth?" . But beyond that and a few housekeeping rules, restrictions, and regs, what else do you think needs to be there?
In other words what repetitive stuff can you identify that we can easily stuff in an FAQ?

How about internal links to Bendmaster threads? We get quite a few of those...

Re: New Forum Category: FAQ
Link to westone.info would be useful - something like:
'for info on your westone xxx start here. Would also be worth reiterating the info on non mij/mik westones as I see that someone's still trying to punt that bc rich copy as a rare westone on gumtree.

Yup. Good one. Parts in general too I think. Wiring help also. I may need some help rounding up all the links though.corsair wrote:How about internal links to Bendmaster threads? We get quite a few of those...
But keep in mind that we also have a FixMe section on the web site, so I want to try and cross-link as much as possible between the two sites. Ultimately I think WestoneGuitars.net should be the repository of any repetitive common reference info.
The Forum is the "think tank" where ideas and solutions are sussed out. The web site is the "library" for those ideas.

Re: New Forum Category: FAQ
I have included a large link to the web site in the widget column and currently running one in the home page announcement scroller. Since introducing the ability to close the column though, that option would not be immediately available if exercised.westcoaster wrote:Link to westone.info would be useful - something like:

I will be removing the text announcement in the scroller soon but I had planned to leave the link to the web site there so that will always be available. Good point about the recent Chinese made Westone branded instruments though.
