Nice! What a Face

Too bad I cannot bid on this one, and I've been jonesin' for a blond like that for awhile now. Sad

Are there any other seller names you use on ebay we should search under?

Great news. Your first 2 are really top shelf models. Any chance of considering offers directly from members here before listing them with the evil one? What a Face

That is sweet news indeed!! Any chance (slim though it might be) of overseas shipping on any of them?

To be moving so many Westies as you are in so short a timeframe begs the question of why I suppose. It seems a very sad affair to my eyes that you are divesting yourself of so many really nice guitars.

Please pardon my nosy nature, but I am one very curious 🐱 ...

UK Session II Empty Re: UK Session II

Post by midhilis Mon May 28, 2012 3:37 pm

I have a modern (read, small) house, two kids who take up half of it with all their junk, and four times more guitars than i have fingers and thumbs to play them with- and nowhere to put them. They're hanging on the walls, in wardrobes, in cupboards, under the bed, and half of them very rarely get played, so I've had a good hard look at the collection, played them all and picked out my favourites to keep. I'm going to be selling about half of them.

Overseas shipping is a possibility, if I can find a reasonably priced courier who'll actually insure guitars.

DAMMIT!!! UK again! That X-390CB went CHEAP!

I've shipped overseas a few times, but only with bolt-on neck guitars that I disassembled. It seems like neck-thru and set neck guitars require a box that is far too large to make overseas shipping feasible for me.

I've found a suitable courier at last - Ebay won't let me revise the postage details but I have revised the auction to unblock bidders from the USA and Europe. Postage to the USA should be about £65.00

This IS the same cat who has HOW many Rainbows saying THIS? confused confused

If you truly do not know why I am going for these beauties then you need to spend some time back reading my posts. The answer lies within ... Smile

I still have Vantages, Arias, Westburys and even a few Electras to cross off yet. If this is too ugly for your eyes my suggestion would be not to look. But just to reassure you Damian, this Session is the one I am most interested in getting in the first place. The other 2 are tempting as well but now that midhilis has made international shipping available on this one my focus has shifted.

Cheers Westcoaster, nothing to fret about.... everyone is loose as a goose 'round these haunts.

Damian and I are very much alright in my book, I will admit that I get too easily bored at times and that is usually when it seems that things are going sideways.

He is a class act (right along with all the rest of you) and if we ever get a chance to bend elbows at the pub I'll be more than happy to let him buy the first round.

Glass in mouth syndrome, huh? Administer doses by the hour, on the hour and you'll be fine...

Uh-huh! Anyway - being not quite as loose as a goose - , back OT; are having a crack at this one, Steve? If so, bonne chance; I'm a little gutted that I've missed the chance to pick up a guitar from David, but thems the breaks - long range shipping kills the deal stone cold dead, particularly with a neck thru or set neck!!

In it to win it, John. All the classic beauties seem to always be on the wrong side of the pond.

My last attempt was foiled by The SARCASTic One and I just do not see these often enough. Add to that the fact that this one has my wife's WGAS ragin' like a cajun and Bob's yer Uncle.

Very nice grain on this one and I'm sure it is in tip top shape so I may as well take a swing.

Post by corsair Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:35 pm

Yeah; 'United broke my Taylor' is a classic, and exactly the reason it bothers me to do the set neck thing from this distance. though my friend Don has a houseful of neck thrus and set necks that have come from the US with no problems but then he also pays the premium price to ship it and I can't justify that sort of dosh for a guitar that would, in all likelihood, just gather dust. He's only had one guitar broken at the headstock in the dozen or so he's bought, which is pretty good going.

From the UK, though, to here is different matter; Australia Post have an appalling reputation for breaking stuff and even getting stuff shipped within Aussie is not exactly cheap; *sigh* Ask me about dealing with Australian wharfies.... Evil or Very Mad

Steve, I say 'go hard', mainly because we know midhilis and can be sure that anything he sends will be well packed and is more than likely to arrive in one piece...

Ya' think? Idea

Just to keep Graham from continuing to beat me over the head with it, yeah... I'm 'fessing up.

Midhilis went well above the call to try to make this auction accessible to me but I was being blocked from bidding no matter what he tried. He even offered to end and relist it but I felt that might upset the current bidders and turn them off to rebidding if he did. So I instead enlisted the help of our favorite Scot and between the two of us (several adult beverages later no doubt) we managed to find a way.

Thank you again, midhilis. This one will be very much loved and cherished.

And as I said yesterday Graham... Cokes and Brandy ( bottom shelf of course ) are on me one day.
