looks like a Cort to me. Looks like someone scratched the Cort name off of it ant then screwed a plate over top of it to cover it up.

You're right Evil, somebody's been scraping the Bejeebus out of it.

not a Cort, the body shape is slightly out, looks more like a Steinberger Blake to me, with a convenient scratchplate covering the brand?!

I went up to my local Guitar Center (Booooooooooo, yeah i know) for their Memorial day sale and they just happen to have a Cort up there. Looks just like the one in the ad other than the scraping/ cover plate. Matter of fact the bridge/tailpiece is marked licensed by Steinberger.

Probably not a Blake, that bass doesn't have the double dots on the 24th fret that the Cort (and this bass) has. Could however be one of those "made by the same company under different names" you see so much of.

There is some question about the manufacturer of this bass. I purchased it with a Westone radical hard shell case and assumed, because there was no manufacturers markings on the bass, that it was a Westone. It might not be . I would think that it could be identified by the actual shape of the body since I'm sure companies had there own designs. At this point I don't know who made it, LP

The question becomes, what happened to the Westone case...

no biggie, they are all but the same bass. Looking at them both i'm even more convinced they actually are the same bass just re-branded.

Cort makes a lot of things for other brands and regularly sells the same thing under their own name for less. I've found the few Corts I've played to be quite nice for their generally low price.
