Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
Just wanted to say Thanks to Sgt. Vimes for the lock nut parts! My Dynasty has been without them since the 90's, it's nice to finally have it closer to complete.
Eventually i'll round off the edges of the one triangle then bead blast and re-paint them. For now a quick coating of black is plenty.
Thanks again!

Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
Anyone still have any of these?
I'm in need of the full set of three square lock washers, and the three locking bolts. My guitar came with a steel bar replacing the washers and two stripped locking bolts. (Pictured below) -- The bolts don't look stripped cosmetically but if you try and put a hex key inside of them it'll just freely rotate so I had to improvise with a pair of pliers to loosen and tighten them... It's as if somebody tried to force them to tighten/loosen using a standard hex key that's slightly smaller than the metric hex key that should be used...)

Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
I have some left, but they are not the square type, they are triangle outer bits for E/A and B/E, for the D/G strings its a narrow rectangle.
These are for the Bendmaster FT and Deluxe string locks.
Its hard to see your pic, but it doesn't look this type.

Hmm, it seems all my pics of the washers have vanished, but the picture a few posts up is a good visual indicator of the shape of these washers.

Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
My apologies for the horrible picture. :/ Thank you for trying to help Vimes but unfortunately I do have a slightly different lock nut that requires E/A, D/G, and B/E rectangle (maybe even square) washers, I'm short on time right now or I'd get better pictures. Will make sure to post them later on tonight.

Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
Hello Westone owners. I recently acquired a spectrum lx that is missing some of the lock nut parts. I was wondering if anyone here still has any or any leads on where I can find them. I am by no means an expert and I am not sure what each individual little part is called. Hopefully my photo shows things adequately. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Any Chance you have all three washers and/or bolts for the spectrum sx ? I`ve been looking for these on and off for several years, and they are just about the last thing I have left on my SX before its completely restored

Yes mate, I have the clamp plates and bolts (8mm and 12mm) but I don't have the 1mm shims that the (I think) FT lock requires.
All I ask is for the postage to be covered, the bits are free (beer tokens always accepted, never expected send me a pm or email and we'll sort you out buddy

Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
The Deluxe requires the 1mm shims, Pete; the FT uses two sets of the plates.
Crustoffer, the slightly longer bolt is for the E/A lock; we've discovered that there are only a few threads holding it all together, which makes it susceptible to stripping so our fix is to put a longer bolt in and drill a small recess in the headstock to allow it to nip up properly!
The other trick with the stringlock is not to overtighten the bloody things - they strip if you look at them hard, eh!!

Thanks for the heads up!
Fortunatly I usually just finger tighten string locks, probably because my first couple of guitars were dirt cheap ibanez ones with would lose their tuning if tighten to hard

Do you have any of these left?
I made some from stainless, but would love to have the originals.

I do have some left, but they are not original parts, the are reproduction parts pressed from something like zinc/pot metal. you may be better off with your stainless versions though you are welcome to have a set

Re: Free to good home --LOCK NUT PARTS
That would be great!
The ones we made work but they were hand made not punched out. I also may be restoring another one for a friend.
Could I get a set?
Thank you
I am working on the graphics for the red pin striping I will be sharing those when I get them done or have them done.

I have a Spectrum SX which I am trying to get back to working order. I have mislaid one of the triangular pieces in the locking nut so was wondering if anyone has access to one. TIA.
